North Louisiana Economic Partnership’s (NLEP) Annual Top Event was last night, Thursday, January 30th at Sam’s Town Casino and Resort. North Louisiana’s movers and shakers networked in the ballroom lobby for a cocktail reception, hosted by Sealy Real Estate Services (SRES). Grella led Amazon’s global economic development team during a period of unprecedented growth for the Fortune 100 company’s e-commerce fulfillment business.During his presentation, Grella emphasized education and the benefits of encouraging young adults in North Louisiana to attend a college close to home. Further, how this can cause tremendous economic growth and development. North Louisiana facilitates students to examine areas of education in industries that directly correlate with our current economic workforce.Grella stated “If you wouldn’t have told me I was in Shreveport when we were driving around, I would have thought I was in Austin…”, Shreveport has what it takes “… and I believe that North Louisiana’s quality of life could attract Millennials from Silicon Valley and Los Angeles to Sportsman Paradise”.Just last year Southern Business & Development magazine ranked Louisiana No. 2 for securing the best economic development performance in the South on a per capita basis.
