Sealy Gets in the Spirit of Giving with Gingerbread House

For years the corporate culture of Sealy has gotten into the holiday spirit by giving to those less fortunate. This year, the Shreveport office chose to sponsor a Gingerbread House family in need. The Gingerbread House Bossier/Caddo Children’s Advocacy Center is a community-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that began serving abused children in 1998.

Lauren Sealy-Pettiette, Business Process Specialist, coordinates with the Gingerbread House to receive the sponsored family’s wish list. Lauren, with Kayte Hollowell, Marketing Director, create an online sign-up sheet that conveniently includes a link to the family’s wishlist. Employees can sign-up for certain items then purchase them themselves or order them from Amazon. “We are so appreciative of everyone’s generosity. For many of these families the Gingerbread House is the only source of presents for Christmas”, says Lauren.

This past Thursday, Kayte Hollowell and Hannah Russell, Marketing Coordinator, piled boxes, bags, and Amazon packages into an SUV and hand delivered the family’s haul of gifts to the Gingerbread House.“The best gifts you can give are time and love, I am proud to be part of an organization that comes together to share both," says Russell.
