Maverick Gaming to Buy Shreveport's Eldorado Resort Casino for $230M

Buyer Looking to Attract Dallas Residents

Eldorado Resorts has come to an agreement with Maverick Gaming, a limited liability company, to sell its Shreveport asset for $230 million. The amount is subject to a working capital adjustment as well as regulatory approval and other closing conditions. The sale of the resort comes months before the impending close of Eldorado Resorts’ acquisition of Caesars Entertainment as the company reduces its debt ahead of finalization. The Eldorado Resort Casino has been a gaming and entertainment destination for many local Shreveport-Bossier and visiting patrons since Eldorado Resorts purchased it in 2005. Located on the historic banks of the Red River and featuring 400 hotel rooms, six restaurants, two nightclubs, 1,400 slot machines, 50 gaming tables, and a full-service spa, the Eldorado is the only AAA Four Diamond Resort in Shreveport. The buyer hopes to cater to Dallas residents, which is approximately 200 miles west of Shreveport. “The population in the Dallas market exceeds 7.5 million people, and Dallas encompasses the third-largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States,” says Eric Persson, owner of Maverick Gaming. “Maverick’s focus to date has been on the growing, vibrant and dynamic economies of Salt Lake City, Seattle and Denver. The company now adds Dallas to that list.”For more information regarding the sale of Eldorado Resort Casino and updates on the effects of the transaction, visit REBusiness Online.
